We’re thrilled to host the second annual Science Sandbox Awardee Summit, to take place at the Simons Foundation headquarters here in New York City on March 30th and 31st, 2023.
Science Sandbox, like all of you, believes that science is part of culture. It's a process of asking questions, of sensemaking - a way to understand our beautiful and messy world. But science doesn't always resonate with everyone. Moreover, many people don't have opportunities to engage with science in ways that are meaningful to them.
All of you are elegantly and thoughtfully working to change this. Over the course of two days, we'll reflect, offer feedback and support, and dig into hard problems. We'll share our knowledge and ask questions. And we'll strengthen this ever-growing and incredibly vibrant community.
We have so much to share with you, from once-in-a-lifetime cosmic events to new opportunities to join the Simons Foundation community. And of course, there will be plenty of time to network (and party).
We will cover airfare/travel fare and hotel accommodations for those of you who are located outside of the New York City area. We're asking that you plan to arrive the evening of Wednesday, March 29th, and depart the morning of Saturday, April 1st - trust us, you'll want to join us for closing night party!
