Abstract: Neurons connect with each other with synapses, and the connectivity is closely related to function. In order to densely reconstruct neurons and identify synapses, Electron Microscopy imaging and large scale image analysis prove to be effective. In this journal club, I'll focus on a paper building an automated pipeline to densely detect synapses and build a connectivity graph for reconstructed neurons. I'll also compare this method with other related approaches. At last, I'll propose a modified pipeline plan.
