Moire Materials Group

America/New_York
Description

The meeting will give an overview of recent experimental discovery and theoretical development on moire materials, with a focus on twisted bilayer graphene. We first review the surprising experimental observation of superconductivity, correlation driven insulating state, and anomalous hall state in the twisted bilayer graphene discovered during the past two years. Then, we overview some elementary theoretical backgrounds, including the continuum model and the basic single-particle band properties. In the end, we summarize briefly the symmetries properties, wannier obstruction, the chiral model and exact flatbands, which will be discussed in more detail in the next few meetings.
