Welcome

Dear SURF Fellows and Mentors,

We are excited to gather everyone in person for our first annual Simons Collaboration on the Global Brain Undergraduate Research Fellowship Symposium. The SURF Program aims to spark and sustain interest in systems and computational neuroscience among talented undergraduates from diverse backgrounds underrepresented in neuroscience research. We are proud of your hard work, community, and dedication as our inaugural class of fellows and mentors and we are eager to gather and see what you have accomplished together.

We hope this symposium will foster connections among both fellows and mentors and support within the scientific community for your continued success. We are excited to give our SURF fellows one of their first tastes of the fun and collaboration of a scientific meeting.

Thank you for contributing your time and expertise to these efforts. We can’t wait to see you in NYC!

Sincerely,
Alyssa Picchini Schaffer, Senior Scientist and Administrative Director, Neuroscience Collaborations
Laura Long, Scientist, SCGB
