Topic: Exploring the mechanisms of ELF3 temperature responsiveness: from monomers to condensates

Abstract: In this talk, I will provide updates on several ongoing projects, with a particular focus on Arabidopsis thermosensor ELF3. After a brief review of previous results, I will discuss our recent monomer-level findings on the 0Q system and how the absence of this polyQ tract alters the temperature-response of the protein. In addition, I will introduce a series of coarse-grain MARTINI simulations designed to probe the nature of ELF3-PrD condensation and the impact of polyQ length and temperature on the system's phase behavior. I will also provide an update on our chain growth algorithm, which utilizes importance sampling techniques in an effort to build Boltzmann-consistent ensembles of intrinsically disordered proteins. Finally, I will discuss the Folding@Home simulation architecture and the novel opportunities it affords.
