Title: Linear Elastodynamics and 2D homogenization

I this is joint work with Marc Briane. I will describe the equilibrium and dynamic behavior of the mixture of two isotopic material where one of them merely satisfies classical strong ellipticity while the other one is a typical elastic medium.
The resulting mix will exhibit several unusual features strongly reminiscent of the long discarded labile aether, the 19th century pre-Maxwellian model for light.
